Blue laboratory-grown diamonds

Blue lab-grown diamonds, wholesale

Blue laboratory-grown diamonds for designers and brands, sorted for consistent colour and supplied direct from the grower.

Where the colour comes from

Blue comes from boron atoms built into the crystal as it grows. Boron absorbs red light, so the diamond looks blue. Diamonds with boron are classed as Type IIb, and the colour is part of the crystal itself.

Usual method: HPHT or CVD, usually as-grown.

What to know when buying

  • Permanent colour. Boron colour is part of the crystal.
  • Electrical conductivity. Type IIb diamonds conduct electricity, a recognised identification feature.
  • Tone. Blues range from icy to deep and can carry grey; specify what you need.

Questions buyers ask

Why are blue lab-grown diamonds blue?

Boron is added during growth and becomes part of the crystal. It absorbs red light, so the diamond appears blue. These diamonds are Type IIb.

Do you disclose post-growth treatment?

Yes. Some CVD diamonds are treated after growth to improve colour. We tell you which stones are as-grown and which are treated, and independent grading reports note it.

Do you supply fancy colours?

Yes, we work in fancy colours including pink, blue and yellow. Ask us what is available now and what we can grow to order.
